LeRoy Kleinschrodt was born September 8, 1919 to Ollie and Katherine (Jacobsen) Kleinschrodt in Pleasant Prairie Township of Martin County. He attended Country School District 44 and graduated from Granada High School in 1937. He married Clarice Cottew on July 3, 1940. He worked two years for Bosshart Construction Co. and farmed thirty-nine years and lived on the same farm for 55 years. They moved to Truman in 1998. He was on the Westford Town Board for six years. He enjoyed fishing, farming, carpentry work, dancing and traveling. They spend many winters in Arizona and traveled to all 50 states.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Clarice of Truman and 2 granddaughters: Lori (Tim)Rathjen of Elgin, IL, and Kristi Dausey of Owatonna, MN; Nine great-grandchildren: James Dobie, Jason Dobie, Steven Dausey, Joshua Dausey, Jessica Rathjen, William Rathjen, Bridgette Rathjen, Benjamin Rathjen and Andrea Rathjen; one great-great-granddaughter, Skye Dobie; one foster grandson, Michael Murray; one daughter-in-law, Della Murray of Wells, MN; one sister, Viola Small of Fairmont; two sisters-in-law: Fay Viesselman, Fairmont, and Donna (Harold "Swede?) Bowers, of St. James, MN; two brothers-in-law: Darvin (Elaine) Cottew of Fairmont, and Blayne (Leora) Cottew of Phoenix, AZ; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard, and his parents.
