John Kassube was born on November 1st, 1936 in Truman, MN to Paul and Clara (Greiner) Kassube. He attended country school at District 100 and attended St. John's Lutheran-Antrim parochial school for grades 7 and 8. John graduated from Truman High School. John was married to Elfrieda Zinke on November 1st, 1958 at St. John's Lutheran Church-Antrim. He farmed until retiring in 1991. Elfrieda died in December of 1986. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Antrim. John enjoyed fishing and hunting, watching the Vikings and the Twins and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. John also enjoyed traveling and going to car races.
John is survived by one son, Brian "Scooby? Kassube of Lewisville and friend Becky Kopischke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jody Smith and her husband Larry of St. James, MN, Judi Davis and Doyle of Truman; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kris, Derek and Brett; one sister, Norma Kelly of Madelia; one brother-in-law Clem Kunz of Madelia; two sisters-in-law, Dolly and Gertrude Kassube, both of Lewisville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two infant daughters; one grandchild, Scott; two brothers, Clarence and Herman and two sisters, Pauline and Edna.
