Raymond Edward Worden

October 20, 1917 — April 22, 2006

Raymond Edward Worden was born in Ledyard, IA on October 20th, 1917 to Eugene and Helen (Powell) Worden. He attended school in Elmore, MN. Ray was married to Elaine Blome on October 14, 1941 in Ledyard, IA. Ray joined the US Army and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Elaine died on September 1st, 1949. He then married Luella (Frink) Frisbie on July 16th, 1950 in Cylinder, IA. She passed away on September 17th, 1960. On June 21st, 1964 Ray married Vera (Albrecht) Wilkening in Truman, MN. She died on August 28th, 1995. Ray was a farmer until 1955. He worked at Cashway Lumber in Fairmont and Truman. Ray worked at the Ceylon Feed Mill and Lewisville Feed Mill. Ray served as a County Commissioner for three terms retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Oles-Reader-Bosshart American Legion Post 115, Truman. He was a member of the Truman Church of Christ. Ray enjoyed fishing and having coffee with the guys. Raymond is survived by his children, Ray (Karla) Worden, Jr., St. Peter, MN, Paula (Palmer) Olson, Storm Lake, IA, David (Shari) Worden, Fairmont, MN, Donna (Hal) Dickman, St. Paul, MN; step children, Nina (Stanley) Jurries, Emmetsburg, IA, Myrna Burk, Burnsville, MN, Steve Wilkening, Truman, MN; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; thirty step great grandchildren; one sister, LoVina (Art) Johnson, Sandwich, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three wives; one step son, Philip Frisbie; brothers John and Dwight Worden and sisters, Nelda Loge, Ada Ihle and Laura Cassem. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation, American Cancer Society or to your local Hospice program.
