Zelda Alvina Lohmann

July 30, 1913 — March 26, 2006

Zelda Alvina Hartmann was born July 30, 1913 in Rutland Township, Martin County, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Voights) Hartmann. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church. She attended St. James Lutheran School and District school #73. She was united in marriage to Theodore W. Lohmann on September 12, 1937. They owned a grocery store in Huntley until 1940. They moved to Northrop and started a plumbing business in 1947. Zelda was a homemaker, secretary, and shop attendant. In 1971 she became a nurse's aide and worked for several years at the Fairmont Hospital. Mr. Lohmann died November 7, 1994. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop, its Ladies Aid, Sewing Group, served as a Sunday school teacher and in church choir. She also was a member of the Home Extension Club, Northrop Twigs of the Fairmont Hospital Auxiliary and the Truman Retirement Home Auxiliary. Zelda had been a resident of the Roxanne House in Fairmont before entering the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman. Survivors include three daughters; DeAnne Novotny and husband, Norman of Bird Island, MN, Carole Lohmann and Barbara Schultze and husband, Kenneth, all of Northrop, MN; one son, David Lohmann and wife, Barbara of Plymouth, MN; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Logan and husband, Jay, Timothy Schultze, Jonathan Schultze and fiancé, Sara Sterett, Benjamin Lohmann and wife, Amanda, and Christina Andrews and husband, Peregrine; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Grace Logan, Vanessa Schultze and Theodore Lohmann; one brother, Wilbert Hartmann and wife, Luverna of Fairmont, MN; sisters-in-law, Anita Hartmann and Elvera Hartmann both of Fairmont, MN; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Gerhardt, Elmer and Edgar; two sisters, Leola Vogt and Edna Leimer; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
