Leona Anna Helena Lund

November 5, 1916 — March 21, 2006

Leona "Nonie? Anna Helena Lund, the daughter of August and Fena (Zenk) Wels, was born November 5, 1916 at her parent's farm home in Antrim Township, Watonwan County, near Lewisville, Minnesota. She attended country school in District 5. In 1940, Nonie came to Fairmont to work. On September 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harold Lund of Dunnell, Minnesota at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont. The couple made their home in Dunnell for one year and then moved to Fairmont. Nonie did private catering for many years and also assisted Annabel Webb with her radio show "A Date With Annabel Webb?. She also worked as a cook at the Fairmont Public School lunch program. Harold died July 31, 1997. Nonie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont and was active in the City of Lakes Garden Club. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Florence Wels of Fairmont, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews. Nonie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, William Wels
