Edgar Theodore Hartmann

Edgar Theodore Hartmann was born on October 18th, 1922 in Rutland Township, rural Martin County, MN to Frank and Emma Voigts Hartmann. He attended St. James Lutheran School. Edgar started farming when he finished his education. On September 9, 1955 he married Ramona Louise Behrens at Zion Lutheran Church-Frasier Township. They made their home in rural Granada where he continued to farm until his retirement in 2000. He entered Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in 2001. Edgar was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, Northrop and contributed by participating in a number of activities, including Men's Club, youth group leadership, and as head usher. He enjoyed farming, playing cards, cooking and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Edgar is survived by one son, Dell and wife Jane Rine of Minneapolis, MN; four daughters, Dana Hartmann, Granada, MN, Dari Hartmann, Arlington Heights, IL, Daon Karpan and husband Quinn, Golden Valley, MN, Desa Hartmann, North Mankato, MN; and three grandchildren, Samuel, McKenna and Alanna; one brother, Wilbert Hartmann and wife Luverna, Fairmont and one sister, Zelda Lohmann, Fairmont; two sisters-in-law, Elvera Hartmann and Anita Hartmann, both of Fairmont. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ramona; one daughter, Dawn; two brothers, Gerhardt and Elmer Hartmann; and two sisters, Edna Leimer and Leola Vogt. Memorial contributions may be given to St. James Lutheran Church, Northrop, MN.
