Wayne Edmond Leonard

November 13, 1911 — February 11, 2006

Wayne Edmond Leonard was born November 13th, 1911 in Antrim Township, Watonwan County, MN, to Edmond and Jane Alexander Leonard. He attended and graduated from Fairmont High School. He farmed on the family farm with his father. Wayne married Bernyce Campbell on June 6th, 1939 at the Baptist parsonage in Mason City, IA. They farmed on the old Gilman farm. In 1946 they purchased their present farm and farmed until retiring in the mid 1990's. Bernyce died on November 18th, 2004. Wayne entered the Lutheran Retirement Home on Monday, February 6th, 2006. Wayne was a member of Community Baptist Church and the Antrim Cemetery Board. He drove school bus from 1960 and continued for about 25 years. Wayne loved watching pro football, traveling in his motorhome and working in his yard. He enjoyed staying involved in the farm. He saw many changes in farming from starting out with horses to the machinery used today. Wayne loved spending time with his family. Wayne is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Gil Harrison, St. James, MN, Suzanne and Hideo Kawasumi, Tokyo, Japan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dudley and Donna Leonard, Truman, MN, Larry and Marjorie Leonard, Waupaca, WI; one daughter-in-law, Lucille Leonard Middleton, Sioux Falls, SD; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernyce; one son, Marlin "Dee? Leonard; one grandson, Joshua Armbrust; two brothers, Lavere and Leslie; four sisters, Blanche, Veda, Winifred and Edna, as an infant.
