Minnie Emma Augst was born April 12, 1902 in Rosendale Township, Watonwan County, MN to Ernst Herman and Effie Pearl (Stratton) Augst. She was baptized on May 10, 1902 and confirmed on June 3, 1917, at the First Lutheran Church in St. James, MN. Her mother died when she was 2 ½ years old and she lived with her grandmother in St. James for nine years. She attended school in District 51 at St. James until she was 10 years old and moved to St. Paul, MN with her father. Minnie was united in marriage to Henry F. Miller on March 14, 1923 at Ormsby, MN where they farmed until his death in 1952. In 1955, Minnie moved to Truman, MN. On August 19, 1962, Minnie married Albert Senne and he died in March of 1965. She operated a flower shop in Truman for many years. She organized the Ormsby and Truman Garden Clubs, was Outstanding Senior Citizen in 1981 in Martin County and was a member of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society. Minnie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman, its Ladies Aid and was active in her church. She was also a member of the Oles-Reader-Bosshart American Legion Auxiliary Unit 115.
Minnie is survived by her daughter, Vivian and husband Donald Dodge of Truman, MN; four grandchildren, Dianna and husband David Erickson of Blaine, MN, Kathleen and husband Stevan Zoeller of Collierville, TN, Thomas Dodge of Minneapolis, MN and Joyce Miller of Des Moines, IA; five great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Benjamin and Zachary Zoeller and Adam and Sara Erickson; stepson, Sylvan Senne; two half brothers, Kenneth and wife Verlein Augst and Raymond and wife Marlene Augst. She was preceded in death by two husband, Henry Miller and Albert Senne; son, Elmo Miller; one brother and three sisters.
