Earl Walter Lebs was born on April 16th, 1917 to Walter and Hulda (Kittle) Lebs in Altopia, WA. He moved to Beemer, NE where he lived until he met his future bride, Viola, while working on her parents' farm in Truman, MN. On November 16th, 1941 Earl married Viola Beata Witt at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman. Earl went into the Army where he was a dog trainer and a medic. He farmed in the Truman area until retiring in the late 1990's. Earl was always a joker and extremely social, always striking up a conversation with people he met. He enjoyed fishing, golf (making the newspaper with his hole in one shot), camping and coffee with his friends at the C-Store. Earl was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and of the Oles-Reader-Bosshart American Legion Post 115, both in Truman.
Earl is survived by one daughter, Julie Martin of Rochester, MN; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Carol Lebs of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 62 years in 2004 and one brother, Walter Lebs
