Edna Bertha Matilda Lupke

Funeral services for Edna Lupke, 89 of Truman, Minnesota will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Branch, rural St. James, Minnesota with the Rev. Matthew Rusert officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lupke died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Fairmont Medical Center-Mayo Health System. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2005 at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Truman and one hour prior to the service at the church. Edna Bertha Matilda Mausling, the daughter of Carl and Sophie (Meyer) Mausling was born August 5, 1916, in Westford Township, Martin County, Minnesota. She was baptized at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Truman, where she was later confirmed on April 13, 1930. On February 27, 1938 Edna was united in marriage to Gustave C. Lupke by Rev. Heinemann. She and her husband began farming in 1943, in South Branch Township, Watonwan County. They retired in 1977 and moved into Truman in 1990. Gustave died on January 24, 2000. Edna was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of South Branch. She enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, as well as helping with various farm duties. Survivors include one son, Lyle Lupke and wife Sonja of Truman, MN; five daughters: Janis Olson of Truman, MN; Carmen Angus and husband Alyn of Fairmont, MN; Arlys Hoffmeyer of Hayfield, MN; Cheryl Otte and husband Ralph of Eagan, MN; Deborah Hotzler of Lake Crystal, MN; two daughters-in-law, Arlene Lupke of St. James, MN and Suzanne Lupke of Truman, MN; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Lupke of St. James, MN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Jerald and Darrel; three brothers, Edward, Fred and Harry; six sisters, Lydia, Anna, Mary, Lillian, Bertha and Alvina.
