Sylvia Selma Schlack

January 1, 1910 — November 2, 2005

Ninety-five years under God's grace. She passed through death into eternal life from Hillcrest Health Care Center on November 2nd, 2005. Sylvia was born to Robert and Emma (Wiederhoeft) Schoneck on January 1st, 1910 in Lewisville, MN. She was baptized on January 6th, 1910 and confirmed on August 3rd 1924, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. On February 10th, 1929 she married Fred Schlack in Lewisville and they were blessed with 67 years of marriage. In 1944 she was a welder's assistant in the shipyards at Long Beach, CA. At the age of forty she had to obtain a chauffer license so she could help Fred by hauling school children with a large station wagon. She also helped Fred with Janitorial Work at the Lewisville School for many years. After Fred retired from his school bus service they continued to do janitorial work for Merchant's State Bank. Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. Survived by loving sister, Elsie Sparks of Tuscon, AZ; loving daughter and son-in-law, Luella and Leonard Arndt, grandson, Lindsay Arndt, all of Bloomington, MN; great grandson, Ryan Arndt of Hudson, WI; great granddaughter Sara Sirek and great great granddaughters McKenna and Ashlyn Sirek of St. Paul, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia will receive Christian Burial from Zion Lutheran Church, Lewisville, MN on Saturday, November 12th, 2005 at 1:00 pm. Officiant of the service is Rev. Brian Thorson. Inurnment will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, Lewisville. Arrangements are being handled by Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Truman.
