Walter Rudolf Rehwinkel

Funeral services for Walter Rehwinkel, 81, of Truman, Minnesota, formerly of Lewisville, Minnesota will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Lutheran Retirement Home Chapel in Truman with the Rev. Brian Thorson of Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Madelia, Minnesota. Mr. Rehwinkel died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Lutheran Retirement Home Chapel. Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Truman arranged services for the family. Walter Rudolf Rehwinkel was born November 9, 1923, to Henry Wilhelm and Anna Elizabeth (Raschke) Rehwinkel in Dallas, Gregory County, South Dakota. He was baptized November 11, 1923, by Pastor Paul G. Weinhold at Zion Lutheran Church in Dixon, South Dakota. On May 22, 1938, Walter was confirmed by Pastor Richard C. Stiemke at Zion Lutheran Church in Mission, South Dakota. He attended school at Mission School in South Dakota. Walter worked on his family's farm near Madelia for many years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. He is survived by his sister, Betty Rehwinkel of Madelia, Minnesota, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Willliam and two sisters, Heidina and Henrietta.
