Funeral services for Lorvin Meyer, 76, Truman, MN, will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Truman, on Wednesday, June 15th, 2005 at 10:30 am with Rev. Nathan Rusert officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Mr. Meyer died on Saturday, June 11th, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. Visitation will be held at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Truman on Tuesday from 5-8:00 pm and one hour prior to the services in the church. Lorvin Meyer was born on August 4th, 1928 in Westford Township, Truman, MN, to Martin and Helen (Nessler) Meyer. He attended schools in various districts including Truman. Lorvin married Marvel Petersen on August 12th, 1950 in Truman, MN. He worked at Truman Farmers Elevator for a couple of years before he began to farm. He farmed until 1991. Lorvin was also an aerial crop sprayer from 1968-1983. He was a road grader operator for Westford and Waverly Townships. Lorvin was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Truman and a former member of the St. James Flying Club. Lorvin enjoyed flying, model airplanes, woodworking, crossword puzzles, music, computers and was a fantastic artist. Lorvin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marvel of Truman; two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Nord and her husband Steven of Tuscon, AZ, Gayleen Meyer Kosbab of Fairmont; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale Meyer and his wife Deb of Fairmont, Curtis Meyer and his wife Janet of Truman and Kenneth Meyer of Savannah, GA; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan Bettin and her husband Harley of Grand Rapids, MN; two brothers and sister-in-law, Marland "Dick? Meyer and his wife Shirley of Sun Lakes, AZ, Jerry Meyer of Roseville, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorvin was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Melanie Meyer. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital.
