Darrell Bruce Sodeman

Memorial services for Darrell Sodeman, 59, Lewisville, MN, will be held at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Truman at 7:00pm Friday, May 27th, 2005. Military honors will be conducted by Lewisville American Legion Post 561. Inurnment will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, South Branch, rural St. James, MN. Mr. Sodeman died Monday, May 16th, 2005 at his home in Lewisville, MN. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Chapel of Truman. Darrell Bruce Sodeman was born on December 10th, 1945 in St. James, MN, to Henry and Regina Firchau Sodeman. Darrell attended school at St. John's Lutheran School in South Branch and St. James High School, St. James, MN. After his education, Darrell farmed at home with his father before going into the U.S. Army to serve in Korea. Darrell came home from Korea to take over the family farm where he worked for several years. He held several jobs including thirteen years with Swift Ekeridge and he was working for Balzer Inc. in Moutain Lake, MN, until his death. Darrell was a member of the Lewisville American Legion Post 561. He loved to fish and hunt and had a love for animals and children. Darrell is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Darla and Jack Groshens of Maple Lake, MN; one brother and sister-in-law, Darwin and JoAnn Sodeman of St. James, MN; two nieces; two nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
