Iva Lorraine Breckunitch

Memorial services for Iva L. Breckunitch, 89, of Fairmont, Minnesota will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Fairmont with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Inurnment will be at Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont. Mrs. Breckunitch died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota. Iva Lorraine Garrison was born June 18, 1915 in Raymondsville, Texas to Clinton Wilbur and Gertrude Belle (Priest) Garrison. When she was six weeks old her parents and family returned to their farm home in Pleasant Mount Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. Iva attended first and second grades at country school District No. 10 and later attended Granada School. On October 15, 1933, Iva was united in marriage to Earl Cole. They made their home in Fairmont where Iva worked in various places. She married Lawrence Breckunitch on April 18, 1948. Mr. Breckunitch died on January 6, 1986. Iva moved to Friendship Village in October of 1989. She attended the United Methodist Church in Fairmont. Mrs. Breckunitch is survived by a daughter, Marlene Franke and husband, Maurie of Mission Viejo, California; a son, Roger Cole and wife, Sandy of Gainesville, Georgia; grandchildren: Elizabeth Meier of Parker, Colorado, Kathleen Sawicky and husband Richard of Mission Viejo, California, Andrew Franke and wife Jackie of Mission Viejo, California, Laura Cole of Dunwoody, Georgia, Angela Smith of Dunwoody, Georgia and Gregory Cole and wife Melanie of Woodstock, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren; nephew, Frank Broviak, Jr. of Ruskin, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Geneva Broviak, and Hattie Kuntz: two brothers, Bob and Lloyd Garrison; granddaughters, Jennifer and Amy Franke and daughter-in-law, Mary Cole.
