Mildred Frieda Johnson

Funeral services for Milda Lubenow Johnson, 91, Ceylon, MN, will be held on Tuesday, April 5th, 2005 at 10:00 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ceylon. Interment will take place at Lake Belt Cemetery, rural Ceylon. Mrs. Johnson died Friday morning, April 1st, 2005, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center, Fairmont. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4th, 2005, from 4-7:00 pm at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ceylon. Arrangements are being handled by Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Fairmont. Milda Lubenow was born on October 27th, 1913, to Herman and Augusta Harms Lubenow in Ceylon, MN. She was baptized on December 7th, 1913, and confirmed April 1st, 1928, both at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon. After confirmation, she was secretary of Sunday school and then taught Sunday school in the church in the country. Milda worked for the telephone company for many years. On August 28th, 1943, Milda married Lewis Johnson. Lewis died in March of 1986. Milda enjoyed being a stay at home mother and grandmother, baking, canning, card playing and gardening. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Ceylon and the Ceylon Senior Citizens Club. Milda is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Pamela Johnson of Ceylon, MN; one granddaughter, Shannon Johnson of Vermillion, SD and one sister-in-law Bea Lubenow of Butterfield, MN. Milda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant son; four brothers; four sisters; one step brother and two step sisters.
