Funeral services for Alma H. Leng, 95, of Truman, Minnesota will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman with the Rev. Nancy Linn officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Truman. Mrs. Leng died Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Fairmont Medical Center. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Truman and one hour prior to the service at the church. Alma Hedwig Dorthea Wolle was born on September 29, 1909 on a farm near Lewisville, Minnesota to John and Margarethe (Karau) Wolle. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, Antrim Township on October 10, 1909. She didn't speak English until she was in school as only German was spoken at home. Alma went to a country school northwest of Lewisville and attended a German summer school taught by their pastor. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville on May 25, 1923. Alma married Clifford Leng on February 22, 1933. They moved to a farm southwest of Truman where they lived for the next 37 years before retiring to Truman in 1971. Alma took great pride in her flowers and garden. She moved to the Lutheran Retirement Home in 1990. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. She is survived by daughters, Dolores Burk and husband Harlan of Laguna Hills, CA and Mary Erickson and husband Alan of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren: John, Amy and Sara Leng, Beth Hartner, Brent, Lisa and Jonathan Burk, Daniel and Thomas Erickson; great-grandchildren: Matthew and Anna Leng, Freyja Leng, Josh, Jacob, Joseph and James Hartner, Lucas Leng, Shaelin and Cole Burk; a brother, Gordon Wolle and wife Delores of St. James, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff in 1973, son, John in 1980, her parents, one sister and four brothers. The family extends their thanks to the excellent care provided to Alma by the staff and volunteers at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman, and the caring staff of the Fairmont Medical Center.
