Mildred Phoebe Potter

September 20, 1907 — February 1, 2005

Mildred P. Potter, 97, Blue Earth, MN, formerly of Granada, MN, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 1st, 2005. Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 5th, 2005, at 11:00 am at the River of Life Worship Center in Blue Earth. Interment will take place in the Verona Cemetery, rural Guckeen, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Fairmont and one hour before the services in the church. Mildred Phoebe Mitchell was born on September 20th, 1907, to Thomas and Jennie (Mock) Mitchell in Boyd, WI. She attended Stanley High School, Stanley, WI, graduating in 1924. She taught country school in Wisconsin for two years. On March 27th, 1926, Mildred married Clarence Hudson who later passed away. She married William Potter on June 15, 1945. She worked for thirteen years as a nursing assistant at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen, WI. In 1989, they moved to Granada, MN. William died in 1994. Mildred moved to New Life Manor in Blue Earth in 1994 and into the St. Luke's Home in Blue Earth in 2001. Mildred was a faithful member of River of Life Worship Center in Blue Earth. Mildred loved the Lord. She loved to spend time with her family. Mildred enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, gardening and music. One of her favorite places was the north shore of Lake Superior. She was an avid reader, a wonderful story teller, loved to recite poetry and wrote short stories. Mildred is survived by her son, John Hudson and his wife Mary, Harvest, AL; two daughters, Mary Anderson of Brooklyn Park, MN and Linda Blair and her husband, Ronald of Winnebago, MN; one daughter-in-law, Jeann Hudson of Lanham, MD; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; seven great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sons, Paul Hudson, David Hudson, Peter Hudson and James Potter; two grandchildren; one great grandchild and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
