Darwin Wilson was born December 10, 1931 in Otisville, Michigan to Samuel and Reba(Fairchild) Wilson. He attended school in Truman, Minnesota graduating from Truman High School in 1951. On November 6, 1953, Darwin married Wanda Klein at the Community Baptist Church in Truman. Darwin served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 with the USS Baltimore, which represented the United States at Queen Elizabeth's Corination. He worked for the Truman Public Utilities, the Lampert Lumber Yard, Gilmore Glass, Harold and Annie Ritte and was a gas station owner. Darwin was a member of Community Baptist Church in Truman where he was a deacon, trustee and church treasurer. Darwin enjoyed being with his family, playing cards, singing, camping and going to Ritter's Cabin. He also enjoyed his pet dogs throughout the years. Darwin enjoyed going to several ship reunions.
Darwin is survived by his wife, Wanda Wilson, Truman, MN; one daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa Kettner and husband, Dale, Truman, MN; one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel Wilson and wife, Debra, Westminster, CO; four grandchildren, Travis Kettner, Natalie Kettner, Samuel Wilson II and Peter Wilson; two stepgrandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Darwin was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Monique Renae.
