Elna R. Reinke

Elna Ruth Tonn was born on January 27th, 1922, in Ceresco Township, rural Vernon Center, MN, to Frederich and Lydia Wester Tonn. She was baptized on March 12, 1922, in St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek by Pastor O. Cloeter. On April 5th, 1936, she was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek by Pastor W. H. Schram. Elna attended parochial school at St. John's Lutheran School-Willow Creek. On November 12th, 1944, Elna married Alvin Harold Reinke at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek with the service conducted by Pastor W. H. Schram. They farmed in rural Vernon Center for their entire lives except for two years of farming near Lewisville, MN. Alvin died on January 21st, 1982. Elna entered the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia in October of this year. Elna was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. Elna is survived by one daughter, Arlene Reinke, Belle Plain, MN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and wife Barbara, Vernon Center, MN and Ronald and wife Mary, Vernon Center, MN; five grandchildren, Bridget Thiel and husband Marty, Tanya Surdick, Rick Reinke, Erica Reinke and Laura Reinke; one brother, Mervin Tonn, Amboy, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Lorenz and one sister, Mildred.
