Funeral services for Malinda C. Huwe, 90, Rockford, ILL, formerly of Perham and Ceylon, MN will be held on Monday, December 13th, 2004 at 1:30 pm at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop, MN. Interment will follow the services in the church cemetery. Mrs. Huwe died Thursday evening, December 9th, 2004 in Rockford, ILL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services in the church. Arrangements are with Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home of Fairmont. Malinda Clara Rosen was born on November 22, 1914 in Perham, MN to Carl and Hulda (Steuber) Rosen. She was raised on a farm in Corliss Township and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Perham. Malinda married George Brasel on December 7th, 1936 and they farmed in the Perham area until 1946 when they moved to Ceylon, MN. They lived in Ceylon until 1963. They then moved to Minneapolis. After the death of her husband George, she moved back to Perham and married Herbert Huwe. They lived in Perham until 2001. After Herb's death she lived at Briarwood in Perham for two years. For the past year and a half she has been residing with her daughter in Rockford, ILL. Malinda is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lavaun Griffin and her husband Pat of Rockford, ILL and Ardes Yearout and her husband Kim of Albuquerque, NM; three grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Doug Griffin and his wife Chris, Brad Griffin and his wife Cheryl and Darrell Griffin and his wife Dawn; one granddaughter and son-in-law, Tara Mitchell and her husband Doug; four great granddaughters, Emma Mudrock, Emily Griffin, Meghan Griffin and Grace Griffin; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille Becker and her husband Wilbert of Fairmont and Adelia Ehlert and her husband Alfred of Fairmont; and two sisters-in-law, Laura Rosen of Fairmont and Joan Rosen of Sherburn. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and three brothers, Adolf and Oscar, and Helmut in infancy. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lutheran Hour Ministry.
