Lillian E. Smith was born on January 13, 1904 in Belmont Township, Jackson County, Minnesota to William and Marie (Gerbrach) Smith. She attended school in Jackson, Minnesota and completed nurses training. Lillian worked for ten years in nursing. On May 16, 1941 she married George Good in Alpha, Minnesota. They lived most of their married life in Des Moines, Iowa. George died on May 28, 1979. She continued to live in Des Moines until 1983 when she moved to the Lutheran Manor in Truman, Minnesota. Lillian entered the Lutheran Retirement Home in March of 1999. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman, where she was active in Ladies Aid and was also a member of Alpha Phi in Des Moines, Iowa. Lillian enjoyed playing cards and going for walks.
Mrs. Good died Friday morning, May 14, 2004 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman at the age of 100 years.
She is survived by several nieces and great-nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, May, Estella, Blanche and Elizabeth; and three brothers, Mark Cassius and Vernon.
