Funeral services for Jake Bay, 85, Blue Earth, formerly of Truman, MN, will be held on Wednesday, December 31st, 2003 at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Truman, MN. Interment will take place in the church cemetery following the services. Mr. Bay died Sunday evening, December 28th, 2003 at the St. Luke's Lutheran Home, Blue Earth, MN from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Visitation will be from 3-7:00 pm Tuesday, December 30th, 2003 at Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home, Truman, MN, and one hour prior to the services in the church. Jacob Bay was born on August 1, 1918 in Mountain Lake, MN to Emil and Molly Schwemmer Bay. He was baptized August 25th, 1918 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, MN. Jacob was confirmed September 29th, 1935 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. He attended rural school. On November 23rd, 1941, Jake married Arnoldine Schwartz at Mountain Lake, MN. They lived and farmed in the Mountain Lake, Bingham Lake and Morgan, MN area until 1950 when they moved to a farm in Antrim Township, Watonwon County, MN. Arnoldine died September 23rd, 1994. Jake entered the nursing home in Blue Earth on October 4, 2002. Jake is survived by one daughter, Sandra Salwei and her husband Jim of Plymouth, MN; two sons, Max Bay and his wife Loretta of Hastings, MN and Ron Bay and his wife Pat of rural Truman, MN; five grandchildren, Trisha Tix and her husband Dan, Timothy Bay, Mauri Elskamp and her husband Don, Troy Salwei and his wife Harolyn and Heather Vetsch and her husband Jon; four great grandchildren, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Joshua and Colin; two brothers, Albert Bay and his wife Bev and Harold Bay all of Milwaukee, WI; one sister, Luella Walters and her husband Stan, Milwaukee, WI and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jake was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Dave, Ed, Alvin, Harry and Alex.
