Funeral services for Raymond W. Riewe, 80, Amboy, MN will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2003 at 10:30 am at St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek. Interment will be in the North Willow Creek Cemetery. Mr. Riewe died Monday evening, December 15th, 2003 at the Luther Memorial Home, Madelia, MN. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 18th, 2003 at Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home, Truman, MN, from 4-8:00 pm and one hour before the services in the church.
Raymond Wilmar Riewe was born May 21st, 1923 in Madelia, MN to Herman and Martha Pollei Riewe. He was baptized on June 10, 1923 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Willow Creek where he was also confirmed on March 21, 1937. Raymond attended Ceresco Country School and St. John's Lutheran School-Willow Creek. He began farming in Pleasant Mound Township. On July 6th, 1952 Raymond married Dorothy Werdin at Trinity Lutheran Church, Janesville, MN. They made their home at Willow Creek, where they lived until he entered the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia on July 31st, 2003. Raymond was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Willow Creek and its Men's Club, a member of Lewisville and Willow Creek Creamery Board, Pleasant Mound Township Board, he drove school bus for St. John's Lutheran School-Willow Creek for 17 years, he was secretary of the Willow Creek branch of AAL and for the church for many years and he served on various church boards through the years. Raymond enjoyed bowling, dart ball, fishing, camping, cards, traveling and spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Luther Memorial Home, Madelia, MN; one daughter, Brenda Riewe, Byron, MN; two sons, Keith and his wife Chris, Lake Crystal, MN and Brian and his wife Cindi, Willow Creek, MN; six grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Tiffany, Lukas, Cory and Aaron; two sisters, Erna Stoeck, Amboy, MN and Jean Winch, New Ulm, MN; one sister-in-law, LaRue Riewe, Spring Lake Park, MN; one brother-in-law, Ben Riewe, Jackson, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Lawrence Riewe and Erwin Blume and one sister Norma Riewe.
