Funeral services for Delbert Wiederhoeft, 69, Lewisville, MN, will be Friday, November 7th, 2003 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Truman, with Rev. Nancy Linn officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. James, MN. Mr. Wiederhoeft died Tuesday, November 4th, 2003 at the Madelia Community Hospital ER. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4-7:00 pm at Olson-Zaharia Funeral Home, Truman and one hour prior to the services in the church. Delbert Wiederhoeft was born in Truman, MN on October 3, 1934 to Emil and Paulina Wojahn Wiederhoeft. He attended school at St. John's Lutheran School ? South Branch and he graduated from Truman High School in 1952. Delbert married Eunice Wright at First Lutheran Church in St. James, MN on April 26, 1958. They lived in Lewisville all forty five years of their marriage. Delbert was employed by Harold and Laura Reiland on a Tilney farm at Lewisville. In May of 1961, Delbert and Eunice purchased the Lewisville Gamble's Store which they operated until 1974. He was then employed by Ormsby Lumber Co. for three years and seven years at Truman Farmers Elevator Lumber and Feed Dept. Delbert retired from the Lewisville Street and Water Dept. in 1997 after working for nine years there. During retirement he was employed part time as a bus driver for Watonwon County TMT "Take Me There? Bus. Delbert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Choir, Truman, President of Thrivent Group for Trinity Lutheran and a member of the Lewisville American Legion Post 561. He was a former Mayor of Lewisville, past member of Lewisville School Board, Lewisville Fire Dept. and Ambulance, Sunday School Teacher and served in various church offices. Delbert was an eight year member of the US National Guard. Delbert is survived by his wife, Eunice, Lewisville; two daughters, Nadine Elbon and her husband David of Savage, MN and Roxanne Wiederhoeft, Milwaukee, WI; four granddaughters, Christine, Tamera and Erica Sharkey, Tea, SD and Brianna Elbon, Savage, MN; four sisters, Elaine and Bernard Glienke, St. James, MN, Mildred Farris, Steilacoom, WA, Luverna Kopischke, Huntley, MN and Myrna and Gary Thomas, Blaine, MN; one sister-in-law, Vange Wiederhoeft, Lewisville, MN; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Audrey Tate, North Mankato, MN, and Glenn and Bonnie Borchert, Morristown, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lorraine Griffith Tate, Ardella Ronnei and Beverly Borchert; two brothers, Harold Wiederhoeft and Delvin Wiederhoeft; three brothers-in-law, Clifford Ronnei, William Farris and Wilmer Griffith; and his Mother and Father-in-law, Ervin and Evelyn Wright. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church of Truman.
