Billye Darlene Jennings was born on March 14, 1924 in Princeton, IA to Milton “Red” and Ethyl (Metcalf) Jennings. At age 14, she was baptized into Christ at the Truman Church of Christ. She attended school in Truman and graduated from Truman High School in 1942. Billye attended DeLyle’s Academy of Beauty Culture in Fairmont, graduating in 1943. She was a beauty operator for several years. On June 1, 1947, Billye was married to Ronald H. Osland in Truman. They later divorced. Billye lived her whole life in Truman until moving into the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont in 2001. She was a member of the Truman Church of Christ and it’s Women’s Council. Billye enjoyed writing poetry, drawing and singing. Billye died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Fairmont Medical Center.

Billye is survived by her daughter, Christine Diekmann (LeRoy), Truman, MN; Mark Osland (Pam), Whitefish, MT; four grandchildren, Jason Diekmann, Tasha Abel, Robert Niles, Steffanie Osland; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Donna Westman, St. James, MN and two sisters-in-law, Gen Jennings, Truman and Verna Jennings, Twin Cities, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Bell and Betty Jane; two brothers, David and Richard Jennings and one grandson-in-law, Jeff Abel.
