Gordon John Wolle was born on March 18, 1921 in Madelia, MN to John and Margarethe (Karau) Wolle. Gordon was baptized on April 3, 1921 at his home and confirmed on April 13, 1935 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville. He attended school at District 38 and graduated in 1939 from St. James High School. On Sept. 3, 1944 he married Hazel Harder in Fairmont, MN. They lived in Fairmont where Gordon worked for Montgomery Ward. They started farming in 1945 in Lewisville. They lived on the farm until retiring when they moved to South Branch. Hazel died in 1999. They cared for 22 foster children and adopted Johnny. On April 29, 2000 Gordon was united in marriage to Delores (Wiese) Lange. They lived on Delores’ farm in South Branch. Gordon would say that this obituary is too long. It should say, “he was here, he is gone, he is done”. Gordon died on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Fairmont Medical Center, Fairmont, MN.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Delores of South Branch; five daughters, Jeanyne Richie (Gail), Grove, OK, RaNae Wolle, Lakeville, MN, Kimberly Wolle, Eagan, MN, Jan Wolle, Rapid City, SD, Lori Ann Wolle, Dodge Center, MN; four sons, Dennis Wolle (Donna), St. Joseph, MN, Larry Wolle (Vicky), Lewisville, MN, Lyle Wolle (Bonnie Ann), Truman, MN, Bryce Wolle (Dorothy), Madelia, MN; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four step daughters, Jolene White (Mike), Plainfield, IA, Dawn Halverson (Scott), Truman, MN, Ramona Hansen (Steve), Cedar Rapids, IA, Karla Doll (Mitch), St. James, MN; 12 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hazel, adopted son, Johnny, two sisters and five brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville.
