Mabel Mae Eckmann was born on February 15, 1916 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Albert and Anna (Bartling) Eckmann. As a young child they moved to Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Church of Christ in Fairmont. On June 27, 1935, Mabel was united in marriage to John “Jack” Wiese at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage in Lewisville. She resided in the Lewisville area until moving into the Lutheran Manor in 2007. Mabel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Ladies Aid and never missed church or Bible class. Mabel was an avid bowler and enjoyed word find, puzzles and embroidering. Mabel loved to spend time with her family and was a faithful dishwasher at all occasions. Mabel died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Truman Senior Living.

Mabel is survived by one daughter, Delores Wolle and her husband Gordon of St. James; four granddaughters, Jolene White and her husband Mike of Plainfield, IA, Dawn Halverson and her husband Scott of Truman, Ramona Hansen and her husband Steve of Cedar Rapids, IA and Karla Doll and her husband Mitch of St. James; twelve great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; five brothers, Clarence Eckmann and wife Patti of Island Lake, IL, Donald Eckmann of Wauconda, IL, Bill Eckmann and wife Orra of Fairmont, Ervin Eckmann and wife Denise of Minneapolis, Melvin Eckmann of Fairmont; three sisters, Alberta Haskin of Fairmont, Marie Wenzel and husband Ben of Fairmont, Janet Diekmann of Fairmont and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 1991; son-in-law, Wilbur Lange; two sisters, Lillian Kettner and Matilda Eckmann; four brothers, Martin, Roy, Floyd and Richard.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church Altar Guild and Ladies Aid or to Martin Luther High School.
