Gerald Tyler was born on April 30, 1915 near Troy, MT to Glenn and Alma (Clark) Tyler. He was raised by his grandparents and attended school at Granada, MN and Hamilton College in Mason City, IA. He worked for W. Hodgman & Sons in road construction for 5 years and for Fairmont Railway Motors for 38 years. Gerald retired in 1980 after 38 years of service to the company. Gerald died on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

Gerald is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Joann Tyler of Minneapolis, MN; one daughter-in-law, Carol Tyler of Coon Rapids, MN; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and special friends and neighbors, Howard “Big Brother” Nelson and his wife Grace of Alexandria, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances in August 1997 and his son Dennis in 1999.
