| To Evelyn's family,
I attended Evelyn's funeral yesterday and wasn't able to share my memories of Evelyn and Fred during the service because I knew I wouldn't be able to get much out. I grew up next door to Fred and "Mrs. Rose" and they were the most wonderful people! I spent a LOT of time over there watching her make curtains, playing with empty thread spools, eating homemade raw egg noodles, chocolate chip cookies and licking dough off of beaters. As I grew older I discovered a new side of Evelyn that I didn't notice as a child. She was so intelligent, interesting, courageous and whitty! I have so many wonderful memories of her and so much respect for the way she lived her life and the dedication that she had to Fred. She was a wonderful person and I'm proud to have been able to call her my friend! I will surely miss her. |
